Neil Diamond – “Play Me” Live | Society Of Rock Videos

No One Can Sing A Love Song Like Neil Diamond!

“Play Me” was written by Neil Diamond for his album, “Moods.” When it was released in May 1972, it was a massive hit! It received several praises especially from women. It was a crowd favorite during his concerts and other live performances.

The “catchy pop-rock” song, a medium-tempo waltz, features broken chords played on the acoustic guitar, courtesy of Diamond’s long-time collaborator Richard Bennett.

He sings this ballad with his signature baritone voice and with loads of charm to the delight of his audience. However, it wasn’t just his voice that can mesmerize thousands of fans. Even critics are impressed with the lyrics of the song.

Nancy Sinatra said, “‘Play Me’ is my favorite [Neil Diamond] song, because it is sexy.”
