Motley Crue fans have long anticipated the band’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but frontman Vince Neil isn’t holding his breath. Despite eligibility since 2007, the band has yet to receive even a nomination.

In a recent interview with WMMR Philadelphia, Neil shared his thoughts on the matter, expressing a mix of hope and skepticism.

“I think it’d be pretty cool to be inducted,” Neil admitted, acknowledging the significance of such recognition. However, he humorously added, “but we’ll probably be dead when they induct us.” Drummer Tommy Lee, also part of the conversation, echoed Neil’s sentiments, highlighting the ambivalence many musicians feel towards the institution.

Lee reflected on the evolving perception of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, noting the inclusion of acts that may not fit traditional rock criteria. “There’s been a bunch of people getting inducted into it that – I don’t know – sometimes you’re like, ‘Huh? How’s that possible?'” he remarked. Despite reservations, Lee emphasized that if fans value the induction, then it holds significance.

Motley Crue Releases Their Latest Single

Meanwhile, Motley Crue recently unveiled their latest single, “Dogs of War,” marking their first release since guitarist Mick Mars’ departure and replacement by John 5.

Neil shared his excitement during an interview about the song’s heavy, melodic sound and compelling lyrics, underscoring the band’s ongoing creativity. “When I heard the song it was like, ‘Woah, this is really cool. It’s heavy, it’s melodic [and] the lyrics are great,” recalling his first encounter with the demo track.

As part of their resurgence, Motley Crue is set to perform at various festivals this summer, including Welcome to Rockville, Summerfest, and Aftershock. Additionally, the band teased a club show in New York, teasing fans under the guise of 1981. Despite the uncertainty surrounding their Hall of Fame prospects, Motley Crue remains active and continues to captivate audiences with their enduring rock legacy.
