Mötley Crüe got sentimental when they released their hit power ballad ‘Home Sweet Home’ in 1985 on their album, Theatre Of Pain and we absolutely loved it! For the first time, it was possible to step into the shoes of road-weary rockstars as they experienced what it is to long for home and the joy of coming home.

‘Home Sweet Home’ almost never saw the light of day; Mötley Crüe’s record label was afraid that the ballad would tarnish their rowdy reputation.

Lucky for us, the Crüe funded the single’s release and stood back as it blew up overnight!

While ‘Home Sweet Home’ isn’t exactly a song to party to, it’s a song that resonates with everyone who’s ever been elated to go home after a long journey, and definitely let us see the softer side of Mötley Crüe.

Even Carrie Underwood loves it! She recorded a country rendition of ‘Home Sweet Home’ for the farewell song on American Idol in 2009.
