KISS just shared a previously unreleased demo of their song, “Rock n’ Rolls Royce.” Gene Simmons prepared it ahead of the recording sessions for the band’s fourth studio album, “Destroyer.” This serves as a preview to their upcoming “Destroyer” box set, out on November 19.
At the Q&A session of their recent Kiss Kruise, Simmons discussed the 1976 record.
“Needless to say, it was a difficult record to make,” he admitted. “The three previous ones, we banged out in two or three weeks apiece, and they sound that way. And Destroyer took longer.”
“It’s a very important record for us, and it showed the good, the bad, and the ugly,” he added. “It showed all of it. The story of Destroyer is the story of a band that struggled within itself to keep their act together.”
The four-disc expanded edition of the aforementioned LP features a previously unreleased live album, which they recorded at a 1976 concert in Paris. The collection also includes a newly remastered version of the original LP, nine previously unreleased demos, alternate mixes, outtakes and single edits. In addition, there are photos, trading cards, a Destroyer tour program, and a 66-page hardcover book containing interviews with the original members Stanley, Simmons, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.
