Never thought we’d hear this version!

Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham is quite possibly the most underrated guitarist in rock n’ roll. His incredible picking ability is severely overlooked, and his simplistic style is commonly turned away from in favor of the more flashy guitarists out there like Eddie Van Halen. One thing is for certain, however. “Never Going Back Again” is easily one of Buckingham’s highlights as a writer and guitarist. The skilled picking showcased on this song is truly unlike anything we’ve ever seen and it’s one of our favorite Fleetwood Mac tunes.

As a young man growing up in the town of Atherton, Calif., Lindsey participated in competitive swimming events with his older brothers Greg and Jeff. While Lindsey ultimately came up for air to focus on his music career, Greg stuck with swimming and scored a silver medal at the 1968 Olympic Games.

The performance below, is Buckingham performing the song back in 2011. Listen to the effect Buckingham’s guitar displays on the song, and how different it makes the song sound. Pay attention to his voice as well. He draws the lyrics out a little more on this song, and gives the song a lot more soul! We enjoy it, and would like to hear the song sund like this more often!
