The Sharks Didn’t Care – But People Had Fun
KISS went ahead with only one of their canceled tour dates and that was the show on a boat for sharks. Though Paul Stanley can’t be there because of his health issues, it wasn’t the first time that they played as a trio. They performed in broad daylight in the back of a boat complete with smoke machines. Gene Simmons said, “probably the most interesting gig I’ve ever done.”
The plan was to use the “low-frequency sounds of rock & roll” to attract sharks and have the passengers aboard the glass-bottomed boat. So while the trio performed in the boat, speakers were lowered and submerged to the sea and fans were able to listen to the performance inside a submarine.
The proceeds from the ticket sales of the event will directly go to charity.
Though the rest of the Australian tour is canceled, KISS has added four dates to their European tour and one in South Africa as well.
