Gone are the days of waiting in line to grab tickets for your favorite bands like Metallica. Today, the ticket-buying process is a chaotic experience, filled with scalpers, complicated systems, and lengthy queues. Fans now have to deal with presale codes, mailing list sign-ups, and sitting for hours to secure just one ticket. The mess has gotten so bad that the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit against Live Nation to challenge the monopoly between them and Ticketmaster. But if the DOJ can’t get it under control, Kid Rock is ready to step in.
Kid Rock Takes a Stand
Never one to hold back, Kid Rock recently shared a picture of himself with Pam Bondi, a nominee for Attorney General under former President Donald Trump. In his post, Kid Rock boldly declared, “What a treat to break bread with our soon to be Attorney General Pam Bondi. I look forward to working with her and the whole administration to help fix the fiasco of buying concert tickets.” He made it clear he’s ready to take on the industry, saying:
“Gonna open a can of whoop ass on the bots, scalpers, venues, ticketing companies, managers and artists alike who rip off and deceive the public with the horse shit that has gone on for decades and only gotten worse.”
Fighting for Fans, Not Waiting on the Government
Kid Rock didn’t stop there. Understanding the magnitude of the fight, he called for anyone willing to help to step up, adding, “Whoever in charge that wants to help fix this, get your a** to the table, otherwise, F**k Around and Find Out.” This isn’t Kid Rock’s first time criticizing the ticketing giants. In his appearance on This Past Weekend with Theo Von, he slammed Ticketmaster for making over a billion dollars in the secondary market. He explained, “That means if you buy a ticket and go to a concert, you’re their worst customer. They want that ticket to resell, and resell, and keep getting that money on it.”
As Kid Rock sees it, the government hasn’t done enough to stop bots and scalpers. “The government says, ‘We’re going to do it,’ and they’re not doing sh*t,” he said. With his words, Kid Rock is ready to take matters into his own hands.
