‘July 1978: The Complete Recordings’ Is A Must-Have Collection For Every Grateful Dead Fan | Society Of Rock Videos

Only 15,000 Individually Numbered Copies Will Be Released!

Last year’s Fare The Well series of concerts by The Grateful Dead is definitely one for the books. It was a $50-million event with more than 300,000 in total attendance. We all thought that would be the last great treat they’re giving fans. But luckily for all of us, there’s more!

On May 13 this year (almost there!), the iconic band will release ‘July 1978: The Complete Recordings’. This new 12-CD box set will feature five complete shows: Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City (on July 1, 1978); St. Paul Civic Center in St. Paul (on July 3, 1978); Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha (on July 5, 1978); and the historic debut at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado (July 7 & 8, 1978). Also included in the box are artwork by cartoonist Paul Pope, liner notes by Nicholas Meriwether and Producer’s Note by David Lemieux.

“To many ears, mine included, 1978 is considered one of the best years in Grateful Dead history, keeping the momentum going from the excellence of 1977 Dead,” Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux told Rolling Stone.

Another 3-CD set will be released on the same date containing a complete record of one of the Grateful Dead’s most successful concerts — the 7/8/1978 Red Rocks Amphitheater show.

You can pre-order now at Dead.net.

Anyone else as excited as us? 🙂
