A Breakthrough Case
Jon Bon Jovi has tested positive for Covid-19. He was left with no choice but to cancel his Miami concert at the last minute.
The 59-year-old rock legend was supposed to appear at the “Runaway With JBJ” fan event on Saturday for Q&A sessions, photo ops and an acoustic performance in addition to a Halloween costume welcome party. Not long after the crowd entered Miami’s Loews South Beach on Collins Avenue and 16th Street, they were informed that JBJ’s pre-show rapid test came back positive. The rest of his band members tested negative and remained at the venue.
Someoneinformed the audience that JBJ “feels” great, but he was going “to bed.”
A representative for Jon Bon Jovi told Variety, “Jon is fully vaccinated and feeling fine.”
Breakthrough cases happen when someone who’s fully vaccinated against Covid-19 gets infected. It’s not unusual and not unexpected because vaccines don’t offer 100% protection against the virus. However, it has been proven that those who were vaccinated were either asymptomatic or experienced milder symptoms.
Meanwhile, JBJ has been active throughout the pandemic. He joined fundraising events, churned out new music, and he even participated in the “Mask Up” campaign alongside Bruce Springsteen and Jon Stewart.
