Rock legend Joe Walsh has released a new three-song EP titled Prayers in collaboration with Sarod virtuoso Amjad Ali Khan. This project came together after Walsh visited India and met Khan. The pair performed together at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai and after which, Walsh invited Khan and his two sons, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, to record new music.

Prayers was recorded at Walsh’s home studio in Los Angeles back in 2020. The EP also features Davey Johnstone, Michael Thompson, Jim Keltner, Nathan East, Stewart Copeland, Joe Vitale, and Lee Sklar. It includes “Healing Love”, “Goddess,” and “Hope (We Shall Overcome).”

“The time I spend in India is always transformative,” Walsh said. “In spending time with the maestro, himself, Amjad, I was excited to see how my instrument and his could work together. We were both blown away. It was one of my life’s most treasured experiences.”

“It was as if our souls united in a symphony of shared love for music in its purest form,” he continued. “The music we created was stronger than our individual abilities. It was a spiritual experience to play with the Khans.”
