Hello, My Friend, Hello!

During the 34th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, Neil Diamond became one of the honorees. The event was hosted by Caroline Kennedy, daughter of JFK. R&B artist Raphael Saadiq performed one of Neil’s beloved classics, “She’s Got the Way to Move Me.” After which, Jennifer Nettles followed with her rendition of “Hello Again” which was beautifully delivered. Lionel Richie came next and the medley ended with Smokey Robinson’s cover of the highly-anticipated “Sweet Caroline.”

“Everybody sings Neil Diamond songs,” Obama said at a reception earlier that day, “no matter how many drinks they’ve had.” — TIME

The performance received a standing ovation from the crowd. It was such an emotional night filled with so much talent. Neil is known for putting on splendid shows and those that paid tribute to him stepped up to the plate and really delivered it.

You can even see Neil almost tearing up. What a beautiful way of honoring such an iconic musician!
