Huey Tells All…
It was just last month that legendary singer Huey Lewis broke the heartbreaking news that he had been diagnosed with Meniere’s disease, a disease that greatly affects one’s hearing. Lewis was forced to cancel all of his scheduled 2018 performances indefinitely. Since then, he has kept quiet about his diagnosis, until now.
During an interview with Today, Huey finally opened up about the diagnosis and what he’s doing to help suppress the issues that the disease is causing. Here is some of what he had to say…
“As I walked to the stage in Dallas, it sounded like there was a jet engine going on. I knew something was wrong. I couldn’t find pitch. Distorted. Nightmare. It’s cacophony. Even though I can hear you, we can talk, I can talk on the phone — I can’t sing. I can’t hear music. I can do everything but what I love to do the most, which is a drag.”
Lewis has been working with the Starkey Hearing Foundation on experimental technology to try and lessen the affects of this disease. Obviously, we wish Lewis all of the best as he fights this tough uphill battle. We know he’ll pull through like he always does!
