History Of Pink Floyd’s Lineup Changes

Through The Years
Lineup changes are often inevitable whether a band is just starting out or if they’ve already achieved massive popularity. The same thing happened to Pink Floyd. Since their formation in 1965 (although their roots can be traced when Roger Waters and Nick Mason met at the London Polytechnic), there have been members who were unanimously booted out and there were also those who voluntarily left because of creative differences.
Bob Klose quit the band in 1965 following the advice of his parents and college tutors. Syd Barrett then took over guitar duties. In 1968, they were forced to let go of Barrett after he became increasingly unpredictable and unreliable on stage. Richard Wright was fired during the production of The Wall. Roger Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985 and sued them for continuing to use the Pink Floyd name.
Waters, Wright, Mason, and Gilmour reunited 24 years later at the Live 8 concert on July 2, 2005.
Here we will look at the history of Pink Floyd’s lineup changes over the years.
