Hey Jude Possibly One Of the Greatest Songs…Ever

“Hey Jude” is a simple song from the legendary English rock band The Beatles written by Paul McCartney, which enjoyed unprecedented success, selling millions of copies and spending nine weeks at the number one spot on American Billboard Hot 100. It was inducted to the coveted Grammy Hall of fame the year 2001, and Rolling Stone magazine named it the eighth best song of all time in 2004.

The three-chord song is basically a mundane advice on seizing happiness, but the four-minute fade out is nothing short of genius. The song begins with a solo piano but by the moment the classic “na na nas” come to a finish, an incredible 36-piece orchestra is banging out the sound.

According to McCartney, he composed the song for Julian – John Lennon’s son – as a way of consoling the five-year old because John had abandoned him and his mother. One year after the release of the hit song, the Beatles split out to pursue individual dreams.

+ Hey Jude Lyrics Below +

Hey Jude, don’t make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

Hey Jude, don’t be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Then you begin to make it better

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain
Don’t carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it’s a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

Hey Jude, don’t let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin
You’re waiting for someone to perform with
And don’t you know that it’s just you, hey Jude, you’ll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah yeah

Hey Jude, don’t make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin
Then you’ll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, oh

Nah nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, hey Jude
