Heart Serenades Late Night TV With ‘Crazy On You’!
The Wilson Sisters: Rock and Roll Pioneers!
The single ‘Crazy On You’ by Heart blew up literally overnight, attracting attention both for the relatively unusual combination of an acoustic guitar paired with an electric guitar, and the fact that the acoustic guitarist was a female – a rarity in rock music during that time.
The intricate solo in the beginning of ‘Crazy On You’ was performed by guitarist Nancy Wilson.
It was meant to let everyone listening know that she could more than hold her own on a guitar, and boy, did she succeed! Nancy Wilson is now one of the most highly respected female guitarists in rock history!
This live performance is incredibly special because it marks the first time Heart appeared on television and we’re finally allowed to put faces to the names we’ve heard talked about in music magazines and heard in passing.
When the music is as good as ‘Crazy On You’, you just have to see it done live!
+ Crazy On You lyrics +
We may still have time
We might still get by
Every time I think about it I want to cry
With the bombs and the devils
And the kids keep coming
Nowhere to breathe easy…no time to be young
But I tell myself that I’m doing alright
There’s nothing left to do tonight but go crazy on you
My love is the evening breeze touching your skin
The gentle sweet singing of leaves in the wind
The whisper that calls, after you in the night
And kisses your ear in the early light
You don’t need to wonder, you’re doing fine
And my love, the pleasure’s mine
Let me go crazy on you
Wild man’s world is crying in pain
What you gonna do when everybody’s insane
So afraid of fortune, so afraid of you
What you gonna do?
Crazy on you, let me go crazy on you
I was willow last night in my dream
I bent down over a clear running stream
I sang you the song that i heard up above
And you keep me alive with your sweet flowing love
Crazy, crazy on you,
Let me go crazy, crazy on you
