Heart Hits The Road With Joan Jett, Cheap Trick And Bring The House Down With “Barracuda”
Rock Hall Three For All, Night One
Just weeks after the release of their highly anticipated 16th studio album Beautiful Broken, Seattle rock legends and Hall of Famers Heart have officially hit the road with fellow Hall of Famers Cheap Trick and Joan Jett on the Rock Hall Three For All Tour, and in true Heart fashion, they kicked off the tour with a bang! With a 14-song set that unfortunately excluded famed Heart classics like “I Just Wanna Make Love To You” and “Magic Man,” sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson more than made up for the absence with an explosive take on “Barracuda” that brought the entirety of Michigan’s DTE Energy Music Theatre to its feet in furious cheers and applause.
Fun Fact: Nancy Wilson played “beautiful girl in car” in the cult classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
If at any point you thought that either Ann or Nancy Wilson may be in danger of losing that spark we all fell in love with 4 decades ago, you’re about to be corrected in the most delicious of ways; at 66 years old, Ann’s voice is as strong as it’s ever been and her stage presence is formidable, allowing her to continue her reputation as the high queen of rock and roll and her little sister Nancy, armed with her Gibson SG, weaves in and out of Ann’s orbit throughout “Barracuda” with a level of confidence and ease that only comes with having dominated every single stage she’s ever come across in her 4 decade long career. Their new album may be called Beautiful Broken but after watching this performance, we assure you that there’s absolutely nothing even remotely ‘broken’ about Heart – these ladies are out of this world!
