Those High Notes Though
Greta Van Fleet eats hate and criticism for breakfast. From the get-go, they’ve been controversial for all the wrong reasons but the band pushed on and continued to make music that they love. It took them three years to follow-up their 2018 debut studio effort “Anthem of the Peaceful Army” but their new album is definitely worth the wait and worth a listen too.
The members have improved tremendously and they’re way more confident too. It probably has something to do with finding their sound.
“We kind of got bored with the simplicity of a lot of contemporary rock music. That’s not really, truly what we are,” Sam Kiszka said in an interview. “We’re definitely a rock and roll band, but The Battle At Garden’s Gate really delves more into the song realm.”
“And I think that there’s a reminder that there’s something that’s a bit like a lightning rod going on when you’ve got controversy,” Josh added. “And I know we’ve seen plenty of it. And I hope that this album pisses a lot of people off.”
They promoted “The Battle At Garden’s Gate” with a series of live performances uploaded on YouTube and we’re telling you, they’re pretty great.
