Renowned Rush bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee is set to unveil a fascinating glimpse into the lives of some of the most influential bassists in the music industry. Teaming up with filmmaker Sam Dunn, known for his acclaimed works like ‘Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage,’ Lee introduces a captivating four-part TV documentary series titled ‘Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too?’ airing on Paramount+.

In this innovative series, Geddy Lee delves deep into the personal and professional lives of bass legends, including Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, Primus bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, and former Hole/Smashing Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf der Maur.

The show not only explores their musical journeys but also showcases their diverse interests and hobbies.

From canning tomatoes with Novoselic to surfing with Trujillo, viewers can anticipate an intimate and entertaining look into the lives of these talented musicians.

In the trailer, Lee humorously states,

“I’m trying to show the world that a bass player can do many things. Join me as I travel to the homes of four bass legends and dive deep into their lives. And their inspirations. Plus some fun making music, as I try to answer one really important question: Are bass players human too?”

The idea for this engaging show emerged from Lee’s interviews for his book ‘The Big, Beautiful Book of Bass,’ where he discovered the multifaceted lives of bass players beyond the stage.

Lee remarked:

“I was struck that these accomplished musicians also lived incredibly interesting, multifaceted lives offstage. Who knew bass players were so effin’ human?”

‘Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too?’ is set to premiere on Paramount+ on December 5 in the US and Canada, followed by a December 6 release in the UK, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
