Glenn Hughes has canceled his 2026 U.S. tour after doctors advised him to focus on a health issue that will require care. The former Deep Purple and Black Sabbath singer shared the news on Friday through social media.

Health Comes First

In his message to fans, Hughes explained the situation clearly. “I’m taking advice from my medical team, who I am working closely with,” he wrote. “Hoping to see you, on the road of happy destiny.”

The statement suggested optimism while confirming that performing is not possible right now. Hughes has not shared a recovery timeline.

Tour Plans and Refund Information

The tour was scheduled to begin on March 27 in San Juan Capistrano, California. It was set to wrap up on May 10 in Tempe, Arizona, with performances planned across several states.

Fans who bought tickets or VIP upgrades can receive refunds through their original point of purchase. Organizers confirmed that the dates are canceled rather than postponed.

What Fans Expected to Hear

The Chosen Years tour was planned as a wide look at Hughes’ long career. The setlist would have included songs from Trapeze, Deep Purple, Hughes/Thrall, Iommi/Hughes, and Black Country Communion.

Hughes also intended to perform material from his newest solo album, giving American audiences a chance to hear recent songs live.

A Long and Influential Career

Now 74, Hughes rose to prominence in the early 1970s with Trapeze before joining Deep Purple in 1973. He shared lead vocal duties with David Coverdale during a key period.

That lineup released three studio albums—Burn, Stormbringer, and Come Taste the Band—before breaking up in 1976. Hughes was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of Deep Purple in 2016.

Recent Activity and Current Status

Hughes released his 15th solo album, Chosen, in September 2025. It was his first solo release in nine years.

The tour supporting the album ended in November 2025 in Bogota, Colombia. No future performances are scheduled for now.
