Pure Sublime!

Florence Welch of the band Florence and The Machine has one of the best voices of the modern generation. Back in February, Florence took on a difficult cover in Fleetwood Mac’s “Silver Springs.”  Luckily for Florence, we’re pretty convinced she nailed the song, and made Stevie Nicks very proud. Florence stripped the song down to a basic guitar, tambourine and vocal rendition.

Florence’s strong voice adds sort of a baroque, almost classical or gospel feel to the tune. It’s funny because this performance actually took place at St. John’s at Hacnkey, which is coincidentally a church in London. Although taking on a song originally sung by Stevie Nicks is a monstrous challenge, we strongly feel that Florence knocked this performance out of the park!  If you enjoyed this performance, you should definitely check out some more of Florence and the Machine’s work. They are currently on tour right now, promoting their album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful which was released last year.

Check out the cover below, and let us know what you think of Florence’s rendition!
