Christine McVie Takes The Lead

‘You Make Loving Fun’ is one of many gems off of Fleetwood Mac’s smash album Rumours. Written and sung by Christine McVie, it’s got an awesome beat that makes it just as suitable for a club as it is their concerts!

The song isn’t actually about bassist John McVie – it’s about Curry Grant, the lighting technician Christine had a brief affair with. Ever oblivious, John thought it was about her dog!

While being deeply introspective, ‘You Make Loving Fun’ is also incredibly lighthearted and positive as Christine gushes about how much fun it is to be in love with her new boyfriend.

This amazing song was a huge concert staple for Fleetwood Mac. However, when Christine McVie left in 1998, Fleetwood Mac stopped performing it live. Lucky for us, Christine is finally back where she belongs and ‘You Make Loving Fun’ is back where it belongs – onstage!

+ You Make Loving Fun lyrics +

Sweet wonderful you,
You make me happy with the things you do,
Oh, can it be so,
This feeling follows me wherever I go.
I never did believe in miracles,
But I’ve a feeling it’s time to try.
I never did believe in the ways of magic,
But I’m beginning to wonder why.
Don’t, don’t break the spell,
It would be different and you know it will,
You, you make loving fun,
And I don’t have to tell you you’re the only one.
You make loving fun.
You make loving fun.
