Inside Blackbird Studio with Johnny Van Zant

Skynyrd Nation, this is one you really don’t want to miss!

For years, we’ve been left to wonder what goes on as one of the most famous bands in the world records their albums and in 2012 they heard us loud and clear – with the help of Rebel Yell Studios and in preparation for their 14th studio album Last Of A Dyin’ Breed, Lynyrd Skynyrd took us into the studio for an exclusive glimpse behind the curtain, letting us see it all; writing, collaborating, and more than a few silly moments to remind us that for Lynyrd Skynyrd, recording an album is more fun than it is work.

Lead singer Johnny Van Zant leads the charge with a never-before-seen look into how he recorded his vocals for Last Of A Dyin’ Breed and took a few moments out of his busy recording schedule to chat a bit about life in the studio:

“We’re here in Blackbird Studio in Nashville where we cut God & Guns and we just feel really, really comfortable in this studio. We try to keep it up and always havin’ a good time. So hopefully it shows on the album, and you guys like it!”

There’s no doubt about it – the band’s passion and good times definitely shine through on Last Of A Dyin’ Breed, and we’re so grateful to be able to see our favorite band hard at work on one of our favorite albums. No one does Southern hospitality quite like Lynyrd Skynyrd!

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s ‘Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd & Second Helping Live’ is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital formats – it’s the perfect gift for the Lynyrd Skynyrd fan in your life. Buy it here on Amazon!
