Europe’s ‘Final Countdown’ Reaches More Than 1 Billion Views

The official music video for Europe‘s 1986 classic “The Final Countdown” has recently just reached one billion views on YouTube.
The song was originally featured on the band’s 1986 album of the same name, which served their third album release. It was a smashing hit for Europe when the song climbed all the way to No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
It became a worldwide breakout being played both on radio and MTV and gave their album a boost upon its release not long after the song and video first arrived.
The band took to social media their reaction about the new milestone saying:

“Thanks so much to everyone out there who has enjoyed ‘The Final Countdown’ song and video! We’re sure we have annoyed a few people along the way as well with this song : ) In any case we are super thrilled and will celebrate tonight in Gothenburg with all our fans on this tour with Whitesnake! – Joey, John, John, Mic & Ian // Europe”
The Final Countdown album has been certified as a triple platinum album and also featured another Europe’s hit single “Carrie,” which ended up hitting No. 8 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.
Europe is currently in the midst of their European tour with dates booked through the end of June. Watch the music video below.
