Eric Clapton Teams Up With Jimmie Vaughan For Series of US Shows

Eric Clapton has announced upcoming dates for his U.S. shows later this year with blues rock icon Jimmie Vaughan.
The brief trek will launch in Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 8, then head to Detroit, Chicago and Pittsburgh, before closing with a pair of shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sept. 18 and 19.
Clapton will be accompanied by his band with members Doyle Bramhall II, Paul Carrack, Nathan East, Sonny Emory and Chris Stainton, with Sharon White and Katie Kissoon on backing vocals.
The upcoming shows will mark as Clapton’s first performances in the States since the fall of 2021. He played a series of dates across the South last year, but prior to the tour, he stated he wouldn’t perform at venues that required proof of vaccination as he noted himself as a vaccine skeptic.
Over the pandemic, Clapton has been open about his disapproval of the U.K.’s lockdown restrictions, including vaccination requirements. He even collaborated several times with fellow vocal anti-lockdown advocate Van Morrison and recorded several recent songs together.
Meanwhile, Clapton is currently on tour in the U.K. and Europe. Tickets for the upcoming U.S. shows will be available for sale on May 20 at the artist’s official website. See the full list of dates below.
