Eric Clapton Set To Release “Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs” 50th Anniversary Edition

It’s Getting A Deluxe Edition Later This Year

Eric Clapton is prepping an expanded edition of Derek & the Dominos’ masterpiece and only studio album “Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs” to mark its 50th anniversary. Due for release on November 13 via UMC/Polydor, it will be available on a 4 vinyl LP format and a separate 2CD edition.

The vinyl edition is getting the “Half-Speed Mastered” treatment by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios and includes a certificate of authentication. There are also two discs containing bonus material and a 12×12 book of sleeve notes.

“Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs” is widely considered as Clapton’s greatest musical achievement. Although it wasn’t a massive success after its first release, it eventually achieved classic status. It was even inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2000. Featuring Duane Allman on 11 of the 14 songs, he and Clapton complemented each other.
