Eric Clapton Set To Release His Own Lockdown Sessions

Throughout the pandemic, Eric Clapton kept himself busy with his collaboration with Van Morrison and by constantly complaining about vaccines and the government response to Covid-19. Well now he’s taking a break from all the negativity by recording and releasing a live album that features acoustic versions of his classic hits such as “Layla,” “Tears in Heaven,” “After Midnight,” and “Bell Bottom Blues.” He also pays tribute to the late Peter Green with two Fleetwood Mac classics, “Black Magic Woman” and “Man of the World.”

He just announced his latest studio effort titled “The Lady in the Balcony: Lockdown Sessions”, which is a series of “live” recordings. It arrives on November 12, and is available in a variety of formats.

Earlier this year after he was forced to cancel a pair of shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Clapton and his band – bassist and backing vocalist Nathan East, drummer Steve Gadd and keyboardist Chris Stainton – got together at Cowdray House in West Sussex, England and played their own concert.

It was originally supposed to be a sequel to his MTV Unplugged album from 1992.

He’s scheduled to embark on a two-week US tour that kicks off on September 13.
