As fans anticipate the new book and the upcoming rock album of country icon, Dolly Parton, she recently revealed that touring won’t be part of her promotion.
In a recent interview with Good Housekeeping to promote her new book, Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, Parton shared the main reason she stopped touring. She said:
“I don’t tour anymore.
“I’ve got so many business things I’m doing. And my husband and I are getting older—he’s a little older than I am—and I kind of need to be with him.”
The singer also mentioned the time it takes to get back on the road and perform in different cities and countries. She noted:
“You got to be committed to that. And I did that all my life.”
However, fans can still look forward to seeing Parton performing songs with the other artists for an awards show or some other television appearances. Although there are no plans for her to tour, fans can be rest assured that the legendary artist have no plans to stop making music. She added:
“I might take off of you know, a month instead of a week, but no, I don’t plan to ever retire unless my husband was sick and really needed me, or I was sick, that’d be the only two reasons I would ever quit. And let’s hope that never happens.”
