Along with the release of her first-ever rock album, Dolly Parton is also set to deliver a new book this year.

The book titled Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones is set to come out this Oct. 17. It features a collection of stories and photos that capture the country singer’s creative history and her inimitable fashion style.

In a recent interview, Parton admitted:

“I never really thought of myself in a fashionable way.
“I just always wore what I felt comfortable myself in, what I thought fit my personality.”

The icon then gave some advice, saying:

“I think everybody should wear what they’re comfortable in, even if other people are not comfortable with it. If you’re comfortable, you’re going to do better. Everybody has their own taste and their own style.”

Dolly Parton’s Upcoming Rock Album

Her much-awaited rock record, Rockstar, will be released on Nov. 17. Parton previously mentioned that Steve Perry and Steven Tyler will be on the album. While more legendary artists like Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, Cher, and John Fogerty were also added to the list.

Apart from original materials, the country legend is also expected to include covers of songs by Prince, the Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, and more. She also shared in the past that she’s planning on covering Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” and even asked the singer to join her on the track.

Parton explained the connection between her upcoming book and first rock album. She said:

“We’ve done a great album.
“It’s more about me, while I’m still alive, being able to get these things out myself, to be able to present them and know that they’re done well, rather than wait until I’m not around anymore. Somebody would do the same exact thing but they wouldn’t have my hands-on touch and my experience in it.”

She added:

“This came about because of getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“I was not expecting that and didn’t agree with it at first … So I thought, ‘Well, I’ve got to earn it,’ so I decided I’d just do a great rock album. And I think I have. I’m real proud of it.”
