Dennis DeYoung has released his final album titled “26 East: Volume 2” and he just dropped the new single “There’s No Turning Back Time”. It’s a bit of a throwback to Styx’s prog-rock days.

DeYoung previously teased the record with “The Last Guitar Hero” featuring Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello. Earlier this year, DeYoung chatted with UCR and jokingly called Styx a “fake prog band”.

“We were an American rock band who used classical influences, but Styx was always at heart an American rock band,” he said. “Most of the prog bands didn’t have a Marshall stack. That’s not what they were doing. But that’s who we were.”

DeYoung also recently appeared on The Suki and Scott Show and spoke about the Styx reunion rumors. He said he wants to embark on a trek with James “JY” Young and Tommy Shaw for “one last tour to say thank you to the fans that made us wealthy human beings and tell them how much we appreciate what they’ve done to make our lives better.” Sadly for fans, he was “met with total resistance”.

He clarified though that there’s no bad blood between them. He’s definitely more than ready to hit the road and he’s “just standing here waiting for the phone call.”
