For most of 2020, shows and festivals have been canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. The touring industry lost billions of dollars because almost everything ground to a halt. And while some slowly tested the waters and went back to the live stage, there are still those who prefer to stay on the safe side and reschedule their concerts.

As for Deep Purple, they were supposed to embark on a UK Tour this year but since the global health crisis is far from over, they were forced to move the dates to 2021. The original tickets will still be honored for the new schedule.

Meanwhile, the release date of Deep Purple’s new album Whoosh! has also been pushed back to August 7 instead of June. According to frontman Ian Gillan, “During my quarantine I’m listening to a lot of music and guessing that it’s the same for many of us during this scary disruption to our lives. We know, don’t we, that music will play a big part in our celebrations as we step back into the light. But, health comes first, so I must stuff my excitement about sharing Whoosh! with you back into a box for a little while. Stay well and follow the light.”
