The best thing you’ll see all day!

This season is already off to an amazing start on the popular TV show America’s Got Talent. The new season kicked off this week, and hasn’t disappointed, with act after act winning the judges over. It’s going to be a really tough competition this year!

During the auditions, 29-year old Mandy Harvey walked onto the stage. Mandy is musician from St. Cloud, Florida, however, she is deaf. She lost her hearing at the age of 18 year old after getting a bad ear infection, and a connective tissue disorder caused her to lose her hearing entirely. Mandy had a translator on hand for the audition, so she could communicate with the judges, and had her shoes off so that she could feel the vibrations through the floor, in order to keep tempo and stay on beat.

After the judges asked a little bit about her, Mandy stepped up to the mic, and belted out a beautiful original song called “Try.” Everyone in the audience was left in complete awe, including Simon Cowell! Following her amazing performance, she received a standing ovation, and Simon didn’t hesitate to share his thoughts on the performance, by pressing the “golden buzzer,” which automatically sends her to the live performances.

It’s truly a beautiful clip, and i challenge you to get through it without at least choking up a bit. Mandy’s story is powerful, and a lesson for us all that even when a dream may seem completely out of reach, it never hurts to give it a shot. Congratulations, Mandy, and we wish you the best throughout the competition!
