He Said He Has “No Beef With Any of Them”

In a recent guesting on The Howard Stern Show, David Crosby discussed Joni Mitchell, mortality, and his former group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. It’s no secret that while the others kept in touch, Crosby hasn’t reconciled with them yet.

“I’m not looking for them to absolve me of my idiocy,” he said.

“You gotta understand, man, I let all three of those guys down totally by becoming a junkie. That’s where I really did hurt them. Not dissing their girlfriend or pissing them off,” Crosby admitted. “I actually did harm. And for that I’ve apologized a million times. And the best apology I could make was to beat it and to come up and be useful again.”

Crosby struggled with his demons for years and his drug use became so bad that most of his money went to funding his habit. He was even arrested in 1982 for drug and firearms possession, and he was sentenced to five years in prison.

He added, “I did harm to the group. I pretty much destroyed it right then.”

Aside from Stephen Stills, Crosby doesn’t talk to the other two.

“I have no beef with any of them,” he insisted. “I hope they’re all ok. I want them to be happy.”

When asked for the possibility of a reconciliation, he simply said that he doesn’t “think it’s in the cards.”
