Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl has been nominated for his 2021 autobiography “The Storyteller” for the Audiobook of the Year at the 2022 Audie Awards.

The award ceremony celebrates the best in “audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment.” Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Lin-Manuel Miranda are among the finalists.

Cynthia Erivo, John Lithgow, Jamie Foxx, Outlander star Sam Heughan and Ron, Clint and Bryce Dallas Howard are also among the nominees for the awards. Winners will be revealed on March 4 in 25 categories by the Audio Publishers Association at a ceremony hosted by Kal Penn and livestreamed at the group’s website.

Grohl’s book centered around his life stories, sharing insight on how he first started writing and working in music to some of the experiences he had as a member of Scream, Nirvana and Foo Fighters and meeting with some of the biggest names on the music history.

The book description cited:

“jamming with Iggy Pop or playing at the Academy Awards, dancing with AC/DC and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, drumming with Tom Petty or meeting Sir Paul McCartney at Royal Albert Hall, bedtime stories with Joan Jett or a chance meeting with Little Richard to flying halfway around the world for one epic night with my daughters.”

Meanwhile, Grohl’s expansion beyond music continues with the upcoming horror-comedy film Studio 666, starring the Foo Fighters as themselves. The film premieres in theaters February 25.
