Cream Reunites After 23 Years For Unforgettable “Born Under A Bad Sign” Tribute

Cream Reunites After 23 Years For Unforgettable “Born Under A Bad Sign” Tribute | Society Of Rock Videos

For One Night Only

January 12, 1993 marks a massively special occasion as it was the first time Cream ever reunited after their separation in 1968, since Eric’s wedding. Playing the 1993 Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, buddies Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Jack Bruce musically assembled forĀ “Born Under A Bad Sign” tribute and dedicated their iconic performance to the Albert King.

“Born under a bad sign,Ā I been down since I begin to crawl.Ā If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have no luck at all…”

Albert, the original artist to record this written masterpiece, had passed away just one year before this performance, so we know that it meant a lot to Eric and the boys…

Interesting Fact: Original lyricists of the song were Booker T. Jones and William Bell of Stax Records.

After the completion of Britain’s psychedelic trio in ’68, Clapton realized that he wanted to pursue a different direction of music- but it is clear by this performance that these boys had a great time together and really loved Albert…

We have so much respect for both Albert and Cream, so it is a true treat to see our favorite British, blues rock band reunite for one of the greatest blues artists in history.

+ Born Under A Bad Sign Lyrics +

One, two
Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have no luck at all

Hard luck and trouble is my only friend
I been on my own ever since I was ten
Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have no luck at all

I can’t read, haven’t learned how to write
My whole life has been one big fight
Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have no luck at all

I ain’t lyin’
If it wasn’t for bad luck I wouldn’t have no kind-a luck
If it wasn’t for real bad luck, I wouldn’t have no luck at all

Wine and women is all I crave
A big legged woman is gonna carry me to my grave
Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have no luck at all

Yeah, my bad luck boy
Been havin’ bad luck all of my days, yes
