Snow, And, Ice, and Cold Surround Me
Matt Olson, superintendent of Benzie County Central Schools, is probably the COOLEST dude in Michigan right now. He didn’t let the freezing temperatures make his outlook frigid. Instead, he decided to spin the situation and set his school shutdown announcement to the rhyming Billy Joel .

His announcement came as a welcome surprise for obvious reasons. Everyone wants to hear that school is closed! But with the polar vortex completely dampering the midwest in snow, everyone could use a little extra spirit and laughter.
“We’ve been out of school for much too long. Pressure’s on for me to sing a song. What else could I do? You’ve all inspired me to. We haven’t had school for the longest time,” sang Mr. Olson.
The trend seems to be reaching as far as the polar vortex itself. With covers of Daft Punk and Leonard Cohen popping up all around the midwest. It’s so touching to know that these leaders understand the influence they have on the youth. More school administrators can look up to the creativity of these teachers, superintendents, and principals.
