Looking Forward To It!
In an interview on 96.1 KLPX radio station by Beth Simmons, Vivian Campbell was asked if he had any idea who will induct them into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He answered:
“I’ve heard a rumor. I don’t know if it’s for public consumption yet. But it would be pretty easy to figure it out. It’s a gentleman who’s been a big fan of the band and a friend of the band for many, many decades.”
He also dropped another hint saying, “He’s really smart.” To which, Simmons mentioned Queen’s Brian May who has a PhD in astrophysics and once worked on NASA’s New Horizons Pluto mission. Neither denying nor confirming, Campbell said, “It may well be.”
This isn’t the first time Brian May has been mentioned with regards to the band’s induction. Late last year, Phil Collen also casually commented that May is the obvious choice to induct them.
“Brian is one of my biggest influences. I love him. I just can’t get over how amazing he is. And we all do — we’re huge QUEEN fans and Brian fans. And so, that would be lovely, if he’d be up for it. But, you know, we’ll see.”
This year’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will be held on March 29 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
