One of the main acts in the recently-concluded Commonwealth Games 2022 was the performance coming from two former Black Sabbath members, Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi.
Right from the very start when the lineup was released, many fans were delighted to hear the news up to the exact moment when the performance was done. On top of these fans is Queen guitarist, Brian May, who became a music fan on top of being a pro rock musician.
He admitted to getting a little “emotional” while watching the Black Sabbath members Osbourne and Iommi reunite to play classic Sabbath material at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in England last August 8.
At the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony, Osbourne and Iommi performed Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” and a truncated version of the band’s “Iron Man.” The Queen rocker said alongside a clip from the performance he subsequently shared with his social media followers:
“That’s the way to do it!!!”
He described it as an “Epic!!!” performance. He added:
“Must say I got a bit emotional seeing Ozzy and Iommi on stage together again.”
Osbourne and Iommi have also recently reunited for a record. While on the other hand, May wrapped up the long-running Rhapsody Tour with Queen and Adam Lambert.
