There Was Water Damage, However

Bob Seger and his wife, Juanita, are both safe and uninjured following a fire incident in the couple’s lakefront home in Orchard Lake, Michigan on Halloween morning. According to the investigators (via The Detroit News), the blaze was contained in the chimney flue off Seger’s family room.

West Bloomfield Township fire inspector Dave Goff said that the couple were present when the fire alarm was triggered at around 6 in the morning, with smoke emanating from an electrical outlet.

The firefighters had no choice but to break through the walls and ceilings to put out the fire. There was water damage in the family room and another room downstairs devoted to a golf simulator. The good news is that no one was injured from the incident.

“Now the task ahead of us is trying to determine, if we can, what caused the fire,” fire marshal Byron Turnquist said.

The 76-year-old rock legend’s home is a 18,368-square-foot house that has eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Its estimated value is $9.6 million.

Meanwhile, Seger finished his farewell tour two years ago, and he played his final show at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. Seger previously hinted that he would not go back on the road after his longtime saxophonist Alto Reed passed away in December 2020.
