Almost A Year After Its Original Release Date

The coronavirus pandemic didn’t just put the touring industry on hold but also the release of movies. Director Peter Jackson’s highly anticipated documentary titled “The Beatles: Get Back” will premiere on August 2021 – it was supposed to be out on theaters this September.

Expanding on the original 1970 film “Let It Be”, it follows The Fab Four’s rehearsals and performances as they work on their new album. The sessions were often remembered as tense and full of conflict but Jackson’s film aims to show a clearer picture of what really happened during that time which is why it includes previously unseen footage. Apparently, it wasn’t like what rumors suggested. On the contrary, it was rather cheerful with the band members joking around and having fun.

Paul McCartney said in a statement, “I am really happy that Peter has delved into our archives to make a film that shows the truth about the Beatles recording together. The friendship and love between us comes over and reminds me of what a crazily beautiful time we had.”

Ringo Starr added, “I’m really looking forward to this film. Peter is great, and it was so cool looking at all this footage. There was hours and hours of us just laughing and playing music, not at all like the version that came out. There was a lot of joy, and I think Peter will show that. I think this version will be a lot more peace and loving, like we really were.”

And yes, “The Beatles: Get Back” will also feature the legendary rooftop concert in its entirety.
