A New Chapter for a Rock Legend

Ringo Starr continues to add new music to a career that has lasted more than six decades. The former Beatles drummer and two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee announced that his new studio album, Long Long Road, will be released on April 24. The project follows his 2025 release Look Up, marking his second collaboration with acclaimed producer T Bone Burnett.

The announcement shows Starr’s steady creative pace even in his eighties. Recorded between Nashville and Los Angeles, the album builds on the musical direction he explored with Burnett on the previous record. That earlier release brought Starr renewed chart success and introduced a stronger country and Americana sound into his solo catalog, something he has continued to develop on the upcoming album.

Working Again With T Bone Burnett

Starr spoke warmly about his ongoing partnership with Burnett, describing how naturally the new record came together after their earlier work. “I’m blessed to have T Bone in my life right now and working with me on these records,” Ringo says in a statement. “After we did the last record, which I love listening to, this one just sort of happened.”

He added that timing and collaboration played an important role in shaping the album. “I like to say sometimes I make the right moves, like you can go left or right at any point, and one of the right moves was hooking up with T Bone for Look Up, and now for this one, which I’m calling Long Long Road, because I’ve been on a long long road.”

Burnett co-wrote and produced much of the material, helping guide the sound while surrounding Starr with musicians from different generations. The sessions combined experienced performers with younger artists connected to the Nashville music scene, giving the record a balance between tradition and modern influence.

Songs, Guests, and Musical Direction

Long Long Road features ten tracks rooted in country and Americana styles while still reflecting Starr’s long history in rock and pop music. Among the songs is a cover of Carl Perkins’ “I Don’t See Me In Your Eyes Anymore,” linking the album to early rock influences that shaped Starr’s musical identity during his youth.

The album also includes several guest appearances. Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, and bluegrass guitarist Billy Strings contribute performances, while Molly Tuttle and Sarah Jarosz appear on the track “It’s Been Too Long,” which was released as the album’s first single through digital platforms. Their harmonies add a folk-inspired tone that blends with Starr’s relaxed vocal delivery.

The full track list includes “Returning Without Tears,” “Baby Don’t Go,” “I Don’t See Me In Your Eyes Anymore,” “It’s Been Too Long,” “Why,” “You And I (Wave Of Love),” “My Baby Don’t Want Nothing,” “Choose Love,” “She’s Gone,” and the title track “Long Long Road.” Several songs were written or co-written by Burnett, while others feature contributions from Starr and longtime collaborators.

The album is now available for preorder in multiple formats, including vinyl, CD, and digital editions, as Starr prepares to share another collection of songs shaped by decades of experience and ongoing musical curiosity.
