I love everything about this cover tune — the easy-going, relaxed vibe and Alex’s effortless singing. It’s no mean feat trying to sing one of Aerosmith’s much-loved songs and those high notes are absolutely challenging. Though no one can really do it like Steven Tyler, Alex Greenwald from the band Phantom Planet still did justice to the song. Come on, this is one awesome version!
This song is about a a roller coaster relationship that seemed great at first but then turned a lot worse. It can also be seen as a metaphor for Steven Tyler’s drug use.
It’s so fun to watch and I find it amazing how these guys just sit around and jam in a parking lot. Props to Alex for his great singing and that awesome guitar work. It makes me want to sing with them and chill! Gotta love the raw and honest sound to it. Don’t you wish you can hang out with friends and belt out to Aerosmith songs with them?
