Get ready to be electrified as AC/DC, the legendary rock band, has officially announced their grand return to the stage with two monumental concerts set to take place at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium this summer.

Under the banner of The Power Up Tour, named after their resounding 2020 album ‘PWR UP’, AC/DC is geared up to unleash their signature thunderous performances at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday, July 3rd, and Sunday, July 7th, 2024.

This exciting European leg of the tour will see the band making stops across a host of countries including Germany, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, England, Slovakia, Belgium, France, and Ireland, before concluding their summer escapade with a spectacular show at Dublin’s Croke Park on Saturday, August 17th.

Fans can expect to witness the iconic lineup of Angus Young on lead guitar, Brian Johnson on vocals, and Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, along with the rhythmic prowess of drummer Matt Laug and bassist Chris Chaney.

While the return of the rock sensation is undoubtedly cause for celebration, fans may notice the absence of bassist Cliff Williams, who had briefly emerged from retirement to perform at the Power Trip festival last October but will not be joining the band for their European tour.

Excitement is already brewing as tickets for AC/DC’s highly anticipated Wembley gigs are set to go on sale from Absolute Radio Tickets at 10 am on Friday, February 16th. With such high demand expected, fans are advised to secure their tickets promptly to avoid missing out on this electrifying experience.

These upcoming Wembley shows mark a significant milestone for AC/DC as they make their first appearance in the UK since the conclusion of the Rock or Bust World Tour over eight years ago, which saw them captivate audiences at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium and London Stadium.

Fans will recall the unexpected turn of events during the final dates of the Rock or Bust World Tour in the summer of 2016, when Brian Johnson was sidelined due to health concerns. Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose stepped in to helm AC/DC during this period, ensuring that the show went on despite the challenges.

Brian Johnson’s triumphant return to the stage is a testament to his resilience and determination, having overcome obstacles with the aid of innovative technology developed by audio expert Stephen Ambrose, which enabled him to continue performing live.

In recent times, Brian has graced various stages with brief appearances, including notable performances at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium, alongside Foo Fighters at SoFi Stadium, and with Sam Fender at St James’ Park, before making his triumphant return to the spotlight with AC/DC at Power Trip festival last October.

At the Power Trip festival, held at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, AC/DC treated fans to a mesmerizing 24-song setlist, featuring electrifying renditions of their classic hits. Despite drummer Phil Rudd’s absence due to VISA issues, Matt Laug stepped in seamlessly, ensuring that the energy remained palpable throughout the performance.

Opening with a thunderous rendition of ‘If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)’ followed by the iconic ‘Back in Black’, AC/DC’s setlist also showcased the live debuts of two tracks from their critically acclaimed 2020 album ‘Power Up’; ‘Demon Fire’ and ‘Shot in the Dark’. Additionally, fans were thrilled by the inclusion of ‘Riff Raff’, a song revived for their 2016 shows with Axl Rose, marking its first-ever live performance with Brian Johnson.

As anticipation builds for their upcoming shows, fans eagerly await the opportunity to witness AC/DC’s electrifying performances firsthand. With their unwavering energy and timeless classics, AC/DC continues to reign supreme as one of rock music’s most iconic acts, promising an unforgettable experience for all in attendance.
