One of his best performances in history!

David Letterman’s late night talk show will go down in history as one of the best television programs of all time. Letterman always brought on the best talent to interview and perform, and many of the iconic late night TV moments were made during his program.

Back in 1993, Robert Plant was on the show and performed what many consider to be his greatest showcase of his song “29 Palms” ever! Plant and his band are energized throughout this whole performance, and their voices, instruments and stage presence are all on point! Any Plant fan, or Zeppelin fan needs to see this, because it’s legendary!

Fun Fact: 29 Palms is a city in the California desert. In this song, the singer is fixated on a seductive woman who lives there. Could this woman be the Canadian singer Alannah Myles, famous for the song Black Velvet? In a 1993 interview with Network magazine, Plant gave a non-denial denial, saying: “We did tour together. We’re good friends. I think the world of her. She’s a great, powerful lady. She has one of the finest voices of the idiom. She was always very kind to me, very warm-hearted. But the road is the road. Forget about all the rumors, everything is true and untrue. 29 Palms’ was written on tour, the last time we were in California.”
