Sara Sings The Blues And Janis Would Be Thrilled!
Sara is 11 years old, the lead singer for her family’s band Motion Device, and she is absolutely fearless. This force to be reckoned with took on Janis Joplin’s ‘Turtle Blues’ in honor of what would have been Janis’ 70th birthday, and I think it’s pretty safe to say that wherever Janis is, she’s smiling down on this brilliant young lady!
Sara Has Even Captured The Attention of Guitar Legend, Steve Vai!
“Wow, This is so special. First, it’s a thrill and an honor to be represented with such historical figures. I’m touched, but more than that, what a beautiful track. It is so pure and honest. I’m looking forward to hearing more.” – Steve Vai, responding to Motion Device single “Mr. Misunderstood”
At 11, Sara’s old soul reminds her band Motion Device’s fans of a very young Janis Joplin. Together with her band, Sara has taken on some of the most challenging vocals in rock music, never shying away from a challenge! From Iron Maiden’s ‘The Trooper’ to Ozzy’s ‘Crazy Train’, this girl has proven to be absolutely unstoppable in her vocal abilities and unshakeable in her pursuit of greatness!
Covers like this make you hopeful and restores your faith in the younger generation that somehow, classic rock ‘n roll will live on. Even at a young age, she can already take on songs like this which aren’t easy to sing. Janis must be smiling down from heaven hearing her soulful performance. She poured her heart into it!
Imagine what will happen in 10 years or so, we won’t be surprised if she’ll be filling stadiums! This is what genuine talent sounds like and we need more of this and less of those auto-tune songs you always hear on the radio. Keep on rockin’ Sara!
