10 Child Rock Prodigies You Need See To Believe

It often takes a while before rockstars master their craft. It takes practice, hard work, and dedication. But there are also with skillset far advanced than the average musician – at a young age to boot. Here are ten child prodigies in rock and metal who are already next-level.
1. O’Keefe Music Foundation
The O’Keefe Music Foundation has posted so many amazing covers by kids that we just can’t leave them out of this list. They’ve taken on songs from Ozzy Osbourne, Tool, Slipknot, Rammstein, Iron Maiden, and many more.
2. Nandi Bushell
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve surely heard of her. She first went viral with her energetic and thunderous drum covers. She and Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl had an epic drum battle last year, and she kicked his ass. More recently, she joined them on stage for a rendition of “Everlong.”
3. Taj Farrant
This 12-year-old guitar prodigy from Australia is into blues and country rock. Aside from wowing the crowd in Australia’s Got Talent and he Ellen DeGeneres Show, he has also shared the stage with Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas.
4. YOYO
Liu Pinxi, also known as YOYO, is now 14 years old. She’s an immensely talented guitar player from China, and her skills are nothing short of phenomenal.
5. Ellen Alaverdyan
She only started playing the bass in April 2020, but this 9-year-old bassist from Las Vegas, Nevada already wowed the music community. She quickly went viral, of course, but perhaps the true testament to her talent was being featured on Victor Wooten’s “The Lesson”.
6. Jesús del Río
This 7-year-old took the world by storm with his stunning AC/DC covers. It takes a lot to sing AC/DC songs, but he did them justice. He joined The Voice Kids in Spain, and he showed off his golden pipes. He wowed everyone during the blind audition with his take on “Highway to Hell”.
7. Jayden Tatasciore
He began playing the guitar at five years old, and already accomplished so much in so little time. He was inspired to pick up the guitar after watching a documentary film on AC/DC resident axemeister Angus Young. He found inspiration from the works of Randy Rhoads, Slash, and Jimi Hendrix. He’s also a huge Guns N’ Roses fan and has mastered most of their classic hits. He’s a regular in an AC/DC tribute band, a 2018 NAMM show artist, played in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical ‘School of Rock’ in Perth at only 9 years old, and even jammed with Judas Priest’s Richie Faulkner last year.
8. Lydian Nadhaswaram
He’s a 15-year-old multi-instrumentalist from India. He started playing drums at the age of 2 and then the piano after six years. He can play over a dozen instruments.
9. School of Rock
With hundreds of locations across nine countries, School of Rock offers programs, lessons, camps, and workshops. Described as “the most revolutionary music education school in the world”, they’re pretty selective when it comes to applicants and they aim for nothing but to propel their students to becoming top-tier musicians.
10. The Rockets
These young rockers were propelled to stardom with their cover of AC/DC’s “T.N.T.” on The Voice Kids in Germany. We can’t wait to see them take over the world of rock ‘n roll in a few years.
