ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons has collaborated with the Time’s Morris Day on a new single called “Too Much Girl 4 Me” which is now available for streaming.

Gibbons and Day recently worked together for the rocker’s newest single. This unexpected duet turned into reality after Day’s manager approached Gibbons at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Gibbons, who coincidentally bumped into Day at a nearby liquor store quickly suggested a collaboration. Day stated:

“We exchanged pleasantries, and it was at the moment we made it official that we would work together.

“A few days later, we were in the recording studio.”

In “Too Much Girl 4 Me,” the two traded vocal roles into percolating synth-funk grooves punctuated by Gibbons’ distinctive guitar soloing. It was also confirmed that this collaboration will appear on Day’s expected final solo album, which will be dubbed Last Call.

Although Day mentioned that by no stretch he is retiring, he said:

“If the fellas – meaning the original Time members – want to get back together … there’s always something there. But the solo thing? I’m chillin’ with that. It’s time to do other things.”

Meanwhile, Gibbons is currently playing dates with his band ZZ Top. Check out their newly-released song below.
