ZZ Top Performs First Album Hit “Brown Sugar” And The Crowd Goes WILD!

Shredding with his Tokai Les Paul, Billy is on a whole different level with this ’97 “Brown Sugar” performance and we can’t get enough! From the 1970 ZZ Top’s First Album, “Brown Sugar” is definitely considered one of their most underrated hits as the album failed to reach the Billboard charts.

“Man, there’s somethin’ make me feel good and it’s gonna change my life. I gotta have some of that Brown Sugar, gotta try it before I die….”

Granted the lyrics could be telling a story about heroin or African American women, but unlike Rolling Stones, we are not 100% sure what Billy was referring to. If we had to guess, we would say it sounds more like the drug related reference, but who knows…

There is nothing better than seeing an artist enjoy their own hit, especially from the beginning of their career, so we can’t help but smile along with Billy during this performance. Grinning from cheek to cheek, Billy and Dusty really have fun bringing back what you can tell is one of their favorite songs ever to play.
