Linda Kramer, wife of Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer, passed away at the age of 55.
Representative of the musician confirmed the news that Joey’s wife of 13 years died on June 22. A cause of death is not currently available. A day before her passing, Linda wished her husband a happy 72nd birthday on Twitter saying:
“Happy Birthday to the Love Of My LIFE !! You are the most amazing man with the biggest heart I know I Love U my sweet boy.”
Joey once described meeting his then future wife as “the biggest rush you ever had in your life.” The Kramers tied the knot in 2009, and the rocker called her as “the love of his life,” in the obituary the Boston Herald wrote, it also read:
“Linda loved Joey deeply and his well-being and happiness were her top priority.”
Linda is survived by her husband, her parents, her three sisters, her stepsiblings, her stepson Jesse, and many nieces and nephews, among others. Her death comes just months after the drummer announced in March that he would not be joining Aerosmith on their Deuces Are Wild residency in Las Vegas this summer.
The band explained Joey’s “temporary leave of absence,” in a statement, saying:
“He has regrettably made the decision to sit out the band’s concerts in 2022 so he can focus his full attention on his family during these uncertain times.
“He and the band look forward to his future performances with Aerosmith.”
