The last interview filmed of the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins will be featured in an upcoming documentary.

Remembering Hawkins, the Foo Fighters drummer was found dead in his hotel room in Bogota, Columbia while the band is currently on their tour. His family and former bandmates came up with the idea of having a tribute concert to mourn and remember Hawkins which took place in two different cities.

At the current time, it was announced that Hawkins is one of several musicians to appear in Let There Be Drums!, a documentary film that also includes appearances by Ringo Starr, Stewart Copeland, Jason Bonham, and Chad Smith. It was also said that it was the last interview filmed before Hawkins’ death.

Justin Kreutzmann, son of the Grateful Dead’s Bill Kreutzmann, was the creator of the film. The distributor, Greenwich Entertainment, said in a statement that Justin Kreutzmann set out “to talk to the world’s most influential drummers in hopes of better understanding his father and the instrument that defined his life.”

The director explained the film “examines the essential role drumming plays in great bands and how music passes from generation to generation.” In the film’s new trailer, Hawkins can be seen recalling the first time he played a kit saying:

“The second I sat on those drums, it was like a bolt of lightning went through my body, and I’ll never forget that day.”

Although the film can be viewed in limited theaters only, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV will be releasing it the same day it will be launched. Watch the trailer of the documentary below.
