We may have loved Queen’s Freddie Mercury from the moment he came crashing into our lives, but there are two women alive who loved him even more: his mom Jer and his little sister, Kashmira.

These days, Mrs. Bulsara and Kashmira rarely speak about their beloved Freddie – or Farrokh, as he was born – not because they aren’t fiercely proud of their brother and son, but because they want to honor Freddie’s extremely private nature that still eludes us to this day.

Fun Fact: Freddie’s mother wanted him to become a lawyer.

However, in 2011 the two gave an exclusive interview to a British daytime talk show and divulged a few little secrets about our favorite frontman! From sharing his favorite outfit as a child, to spoiling little sister Kashmira, even going as far as to share some of Freddie’s designs that he put together while in fashion school, Freddie’s mother and sister had smiles that lit up the room as they talked about him.

Despite his parents’ lifelong desire to see Freddie become a lawyer or doctor, his love for art took over.
